Today has been a Long day. It started out at about 7:45 this morning, but I should also mention what happened at 1am last night.
Evidently, Cole and Doc got into the box of Honey Nut Cheerios, and with Cole being a diabetic, it was really scary. He couldn’t walk, and I was very worried.
Needless to say it was for naught because he was fine by the time I woke up this morning.
Liz Alexander came and got me this morning around 9 or so. We got to the Commission about 10:40 or so. I met up with Clint the Mobility guy and we re-ran the route from the Commission to the theater, then from the theater to the bus stop, then back to the Commission.
After we got back, I got some lunch. Instead of having lunch in their cafeteria as I was used to, their cafeteria was supposed to be renovated, so for now they’re eating in the gym.
Then after lunch, I went with Margaret and we discussed the rules regarding my living in this house. I also signed a “lease”. I put it in quotations because the house and the lease and all of the things involved are designed to simulate living in an apartment on your own. It’s pretty cool. It’s pretend income but a few things are real. I have an allowance to be able to travel back and forth using SCCB transportation, I’m given a certain amount of money for groceries each month. Evidently I provide bus fare though. It’s not so bad it’s about $.75 one way. So it’s about $1.50 a day if I travel to and from work on the bus.
I’m not sure if that’s going to be an every day thing or not, but the good thing is that there is a Wachovia on my bus route, so if I need more quarters, there’s a Wachovia where the bus stop is. It couldn’t have been better.
It’s pouring outside and has been thundering pretty loudly for the last little while. I’ve gotta finish putting away my clothes, then I’ll probably take a shower and head to bed and call it an early night. I’m expecting visitors around 9 or so. My boss, Danny is supposed to be here around 10 to pick me up.
Think that’s about it for now. Ta Ta, write more tomorrow.
